Your Comprehensive Resource for Climate-Friendly Living

The Eco-Literacy Guide is the cornerstone educational output of the What a Wonderful World project—a four-volume comprehensive resource designed to empower young people across Europe with the knowledge and practical skills needed to combat climate change.

This guide is a collaborative creation involving all six partner organizations, bringing together expertise from Austria, Romania, Turkey, Italy, Greece, and Serbia. It transforms complex environmental science into accessible, actionable guidance for youth, educators, and community members who want to make a real difference.

Water, Forest, and Climate (Volume 1)

Developed during the Learning, Teaching, Training Activity in Romania. Focuses on understanding water footprints and calculating personal water consumption. Explains the vital role of forests in climate regulation and the importance of protecting water resources and forest ecosystems. Includes practical activities, workshops on water conservation, and the symbolic tree-planting initiative that participants completed during the LTTA.

Climate and Gas
(Volume 2)

Created during the LTTA in Turkey. Addresses greenhouse gas emissions and their impact on climate change. Teaches participants how to calculate their personal carbon footprint and understand the connection between individual consumption and climate impact. Includes practical community activities such as carbon footprint scanning in public parks, conscious shopping based on carbon emission rates, and street interviews documenting local awareness about gas emissions and climate mitigation.

Climate and Recycling (Volume 3)

Produced during the LTTA in Italy. Explores the critical role of recycling in reducing environmental impact. Covers topics including recycling systems, creating natural cosmetics and cleaning products from recyclable materials, and artistic activities transforming waste into valuable products. Features the “From Waste to Art” exhibition that engaged over 100 local community members and demonstrates how recycling can become both a practical and creative climate solution.

Climate, Energy, and Eco-Garden (Volume 4)

Developed during the LTTA in Greece. Focuses on renewable energy sources and sustainable agriculture practices. Includes workshops on creating eco-gardens, using natural fertilizers, growing organic products, and implementing rainwater harvesting systems. Addresses energy consumption patterns and showcases practical ways to reduce reliance on fossil fuels through renewable alternatives. Participants created a functioning eco-garden as part of hands-on learning.
