Climate and Recycling

The fourth and final Learning The third Learning, Teaching, and Training Activity (LTTA) of the WAWW! project will focus on climate change and recycling practices. This five-day intensive program, hosted by L’ORMA in , Italy, will bring together youth workers and young people from six European countries to explore innovative approaches to waste management and circular economy principles.

The Italy LTTA will play a crucial role in developing practical approaches to recycling and waste management, contributing significantly to the project’s overall goal of enhancing eco-literacy among European youth. Through a combination of theoretical learning, practical experiences, and creative expression, participants will gain the knowledge and skills needed to become advocates for sustainable waste management in their communities.This final LTTA will not only complete the educational journey of our participants but also provide practical tools and knowledge for creating lasting environmental impact in their communities.

Objectives

Develop understanding of renewable energy sources and their role in combating climate change

Raise awareness about sustainable agriculture and eco-gardening practices


Explore the connection between energy consumption, food production, and climate impact


Equip participants with practical skills for creating and maintaining eco-gardens


Draft the volume of the Eco-Literacy Guide focusing on climate, energy, and eco-gardens


Create a model eco-garden as a legacy of the training

Key Activities

    Workshops on renewable energy sources and energy conservation

    Interactive sessions on permaculture and sustainable gardening practices

    Field trips to local renewable energy installations
    Practical activities in eco-garden design and implementation

    Hands-on experience with organic farming techniques
    Development of community garden projects

    Upcoming Event in Rimella, Italy
    We are thrilled to announce our next Learning, Teaching, and Training Activity (LTTA):

    đź“Ť Location: The picturesque Walser village of Rimella, Piedmont, Italy.
    This workshop will focus on recycling as a tool for combating climate change, providing participants with the knowledge and inspiration to make a tangible impact. The workshop also marks the development of the fourth volume of the Eco-Literacy Guide, featuring climate-related recycling methods.
    Why Participate?
    Participants will have the opportunity to explore the intersection of climate change, recycling, and eco-friendly practices. By promoting practical applications of recycling, sustainable consumption, and eco-conscious habits, this event will empower participants to take meaningful action.
    What to Expect
    Interactive Presentations: National teams will present innovative recycling practices from their countries.
    Workshops: Focused sessions on sustainable living and recycling methods.
    Cultural Immersion: Learn about Rimella’s heritage, including Walser traditions, language, and architecture.
    Venue and Accommodation
    The event will take place at Villa Inferiore, Rimella, a facility designed to offer a tranquil and environmentally immersive experience. Nestled in the stunning Val Mastallone, the venue offers breathtaking alpine views, serene landscapes, and a welcoming atmosphere.
    Facilities include a fully equipped kitchen (perfect for intercultural dinners), cozy yet austere bedrooms with single and bunk beds, shared bathrooms, meeting rooms, and relaxing fireplaces. Participants will enjoy time in nature while fostering focus, collaboration, and connection.
    Who Can Participate?
    The workshop is open to young adults aged 18-30 from six partner countries, with no prior knowledge required. The working language will be English, and all flights, accommodation, and meals are generously covered by the Erasmus+ Programme.
